Why choose Australia Awards?
The Australian Agency for International Development’s (AusAID) Australia Awards Scholarships provide an excellent opportunity to high-achieving Filipinos, who possess passion for intellectual pursuit and development work, to pursue Master's and PhD degrees in Australia.
Australia is home to some of the world’s top universities, including 8 of the top 100 universities in the world. Through Australia Awards Scholarships, Filipino awardees receive globally-competitive education and skills that they can use to drive Philippine development.
A unique feature of the Australia Awards program in the Philippines is the scholars’ commitment to make a positive difference in their organisations and/or communities by completing a re-entry action plan upon their return to the Philippines.
Since the 1950s, over 2,000 Filipino awardees from the government, NGO, academe and private sectors have been making a difference in their fields, workplaces, and communities through their Australian education.
The Australia Awards Scholarships are part of the Australia-Philippines development cooperation and provide lasting contribution to Philippine development through education.
AusAID’s Australia Awards Scholarships in the Philippines offer the biggest number of postgraduate scholarship slots to Filipinos, with at least 120 slots available annually. This demonstrates the high premium that the Australian Government places on improving the human capital of the Philippines by increasing access to quality education and training for people.
The Australia Awards Scholarships are highly-competitive and offered to Filipinos who have the potential to assume leadership roles to influence social and economic policy reforms, and drive development in the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region. The Awards provide full scholarship for Master’s and PhD degrees including travel and living expenses, allowances, and healthcare benefits among others, making it the most generous foreign scholarship in the Philippines.
